How the process works

No referral is needed and, for most tests, no appointment either, so you can simply walk in. Samui Medical Clinic is open daily with a doctor on call 24 hours, and our English-speaking doctors take a short history first to make sure the right tests are ordered, not just the most tests. Professional sample collection is done at the clinic, rapid tests are often ready within the hour, and partner-lab results typically return within 24 to 72 hours depending on the panel. Results are delivered confidentially by email or WhatsApp together with a doctor’s explanation and, where needed, a follow-up plan. If you would rather not travel, we can collect samples during a hotel or villa visit anywhere across Chaweng, Bang Rak, Bophut and the wider island.

When testing is not the first step

Laboratory tests are the right tool for diagnosis and follow-up, but they are not for emergencies. If you have chest pain, severe shortness of breath, confusion, uncontrolled bleeding, or signs of severe dehydration such as fainting or being unable to keep fluids down, go straight to a hospital emergency department, because stabilisation must come before testing. For urgent but non-emergency concerns, call us any time and a doctor will advise whether you need testing, treatment or transfer to hospital. Used at the right moment, the right test brings genuine reassurance and a clear next step.
