IV drip in Koh Samui

Doctor-supervised IV drips that push fluids, electrolytes, vitamins and minerals straight into your bloodstream for fast rehydration and recovery. English-speaking physicians at our Bang Rak walk-in clinic, or brought to your hotel or villa anywhere on the island.

What an intravenous infusion actually does

An IV drip delivers a sterile blend of fluids and electrolytes directly into a vein, bypassing the gut so your body absorbs close to 100 percent of what is in the bag. Because nothing is lost to digestion, hydration and essential nutrients reach your cells within minutes rather than hours. That speed is the whole point: when you are depleted after a tropical bug, a long-haul flight or a heavy night out, an intravenous infusion restores fluid balance far faster than sipping water or oral rehydration salts alone.

Every drip we place is chosen for a reason, not sold as a novelty. Depending on what our doctor finds, your bag may include saline for hydration, a vitamin B complex and vitamin C for energy, antioxidants to support the immune system, or minerals such as magnesium to ease cramping and fatigue.

Drips we commonly provide at the clinic

Travellers and residents across Chaweng, Bang Rak and Bophut ask us for a drip when they feel drained, run-down or under the weather. The most requested treatments include:

  • Rehydration drips for dehydration from heat, diarrhoea, vomiting or a stomach bug
  • Vitamin and wellness infusions designed to boost energy, lift fatigue and support metabolism
  • Immune-support blends with high-dose vitamin C and antioxidants when you feel a cold coming on
  • Recovery drips after a big night, combining fluids, electrolytes and B vitamins
  • Skin and general wellness formulas aimed at overall vitality and skin health

A doctor examines you before any drip

Safety comes first. A licensed, English-speaking physician reviews your medical history, checks your blood pressure and hydration status, and asks about your symptoms and medications before deciding what belongs in your infusion. If your symptoms suggest something more, our on-site laboratory can run blood tests on the spot to guide the treatment. The line is placed by trained medical staff using single-use, sterile equipment, and you rest comfortably while we monitor you. Most sessions take 45 to 60 minutes. We are a walk-in clinic open daily, with a doctor on call 24 hours, so no appointment is needed.

Too unwell to travel? We come to you

If you can barely leave your room, a doctor can bring the drip to you. Our hotel and villa visits reach across the island — Chaweng, Lamai, Bophut, Maenam and Choeng Mon — with everything needed to examine you and start treatment where you are. Our clinic sits at The Greens at Bangrak Bay, minutes from Samui International Airport and the Big Buddha, so help is rarely far away.

When a drip is not the right answer

An IV drip supports recovery, but it is not a cure for serious illness. Seek emergency hospital care immediately for severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, blood in vomit or stool, chest pain, difficulty breathing, confusion, fainting, or a high fever with a rash or bleeding gums. Our doctors will tell you honestly when hospital care is safer and can help arrange transfer. We also confirm the price with you before treatment begins, handle direct billing with most travel insurers, and stock any prescribed medicines in our on-site pharmacy.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does an IV drip take?

Most drips run for 45 to 60 minutes once the line is placed. A doctor examines you first, which adds a short consultation, and you rest in a private area while the infusion flows and we monitor you.

Do I need an appointment for an IV drip in Koh Samui?

No. We are a walk-in clinic open daily in Bang Rak, with a doctor on call 24 hours. You can simply drop in, or message us on WhatsApp first so we have your drip ready when you arrive.

Can a doctor bring the drip to my hotel or villa?

Yes. We provide hotel and villa visits island-wide, including Chaweng, Lamai, Bophut, Maenam and Choeng Mon. A doctor arrives with sterile equipment to examine you and start treatment in your room.

Are IV drips safe?

They are safe when supervised by a doctor and given with sterile, single-use equipment, which is how we do it. A physician checks your history and hydration status first, and our on-site lab can run blood tests if your symptoms warrant it.

What is in a vitamin drip?

A typical wellness infusion blends fluids with a vitamin B complex, vitamin C, antioxidants and minerals such as magnesium. The exact mix is chosen by the doctor based on your symptoms and goals, whether that is energy, immune support or rehydration.

Will an IV drip cure my food poisoning or hangover?

A drip rapidly restores fluids and electrolytes, which helps you feel better faster, but it does not treat the underlying infection. For food poisoning our doctor may also prescribe medication, and severe symptoms may still need further care.

How much does an IV drip cost?

The price depends on the type of drip you need, and we always confirm it with you before treatment begins, so there are no surprises. We also handle direct billing with most travel insurers where your policy covers the visit.

Can I get a drip if I have a medical condition?

Possibly, but it depends on your condition. That is exactly why a doctor reviews your history, medications and vital signs before any infusion, and may recommend a different plan or a blood test if a drip is not suitable for you.
