Allergic reaction treatment in Koh Samui

Fast, doctor-led care for everything from sudden hives to food and insect reactions, with clear prevention advice so the rest of your trip stays on track.

Allergic reactions on holiday: what we see

New foods, tropical fruit, unfamiliar seafood, plants, medications, and insect bites all make allergic reactions common among travellers on Samui. Most are mild and settle quickly, but they can be alarming when you are far from home. Typical symptoms include raised itchy hives (urticaria), flushed or blotchy skin, swelling of the lips or eyelids, an itchy mouth or throat, sneezing, watery eyes, or stomach cramps after eating.

Our English-speaking doctors provide allergic reaction treatment in Koh Samui on a walk-in basis, identify the likely trigger, and give you a clear plan to prevent it happening again. If your reaction followed an insect encounter, our insect bite treatment in Koh Samui page covers bites and stings in more detail.

What to expect at our clinic

A doctor will review your symptoms, timeline, and any known allergies, then examine your skin and airway. Depending on severity, treatment may involve medication to calm the immune response and relieve itching and swelling, plus monitoring on site until you are stable. Our on-site pharmacy dispenses what you need before you leave, so you are not hunting for a chemist afterwards.

  • Walk-in and same-day assessment, no appointment required
  • On-site lab and pharmacy for quick testing and treatment in one visit
  • Open daily with a doctor on call 24 hours for urgent concerns
  • Doctor visits to your hotel or villa island-wide if you would rather not travel
  • Prevention advice and a written note of the likely trigger for your records

When to seek emergency care immediately

Most reactions are mild, but a small number become severe (anaphylaxis) and are a medical emergency. Do not wait to be seen at a clinic if you notice difficulty breathing, wheezing, tightness in the throat, swelling of the tongue or throat, a rapid weak pulse, dizziness or fainting, or widespread swelling coming on fast. Call for an ambulance or go to the nearest hospital emergency department right away. If you carry an adrenaline auto-injector and have been trained to use it, use it while help is on the way.

For anything less urgent, call us first on +66 83 150 2520 and we will advise whether to come in or arrange a doctor to visit you.

Costs, insurance, and related care

Consultations are transparently priced and we offer direct billing with most major travel insurers, so in many cases there is nothing to pay up front. Keep your policy details and passport handy and our reception team will handle the paperwork. If your symptoms turn out to be something else, we treat the full range of travel complaints too, including food poisoning treatment in Koh Samui and skin infection treatment in Koh Samui, so you can be assessed properly in one visit.
