Getting sick on holiday is stressful enough without phoning around for an appointment or sitting in a hospital queue for half a day. At Samui Medical Clinic in Chaweng, you simply walk in and see a doctor. We are open every day of the week, a doctor is on call 24 hours for urgent concerns, and most patients are examined, diagnosed and back out the door with their medication in well under an hour.

All of our doctors speak fluent English, so you can describe your symptoms properly and actually understand the answers. If you are too unwell to travel — or you would rather not leave the pool — we also offer a doctor hotel visit anywhere on the island, from Chaweng and Bophut to Lamai, Maenam and Taling Ngam.

What happens during your consultation

A doctor consultation in Koh Samui at our clinic works much like a GP visit at home. The doctor takes your history, examines you, explains what they think is going on and agrees a treatment plan with you — in plain English, without rushing. When to go straight to a hospital instead

We handle the vast majority of holiday illnesses and injuries, but some situations need an emergency department, not a clinic. If you have chest pain, difficulty breathing, signs of stroke, heavy uncontrolled bleeding, a serious head injury or loss of consciousness, go directly to the nearest hospital or call emergency services — do not wait for a clinic consultation. Costs, insurance and paperwork

Consultation fees are transparent and quoted before treatment, and they are a fraction of what private hospitals on the island charge for the same visit. If you have travel insurance, bring your policy details: we arrange direct billing with most travel insurers, so covered patients often pay nothing at the counter. Everyone receives a proper receipt and, on request, a medical report in English for later claims.
